Best sort of ethernet cable?

What is the best sort of ethernet cable.

I want to get a cable to go from my router to my pc.

Would you use patch cable or crossover cable.

patch cat5 standard ethernet cable. No need for the crossover cable. The router itself acts as a cross over cable between multiple systems.

It isn't so much as which is the best as in one will work and one won't (usually).

I got a switch and a pile of cat5e patch cable..works fine for me.
