Bookmarking Root Domain

Hi,

I have an issue. let's say I am browsing page:

www.domain.com/dir/file.html

How can I constrain this page to be bookmarked as www.domain.com ONLY.

You can't. You can provide a "bookmark this page" link (for IE) which you can direct to any url you like.

If it would be possible to do what you requested, wouldn't that completely defy the point and purpose of bookmarks?

My memory is usually not that dim to remember the root URL of a site like "bigbangbanana.com" or sth like that. But I would cry out in anger if I set a bookmark on subpage like "bigbangbanana.com/dir1/section2/here/is/just/another/useless/directory/because/our/designer/loves /folders/text.hml?bla=12&blabla=23&sessID=2lsdf34390fdfldsf32320" and later discover that it didn't remember the actual URL.... understandable?
