put pics/bg farthest, farther, etc?

when i put text or anything under my title, the title picture covers it, so which html sends an image back farthest, yet not so far that the background will cover it?

is the property to "send back" and "bring forward"

...and it's css, not html.

oh, k thanx man. how do you work z-index tho?

z-index:#; goes in the CSS.the higher the number, the closer it is to the front.
