Network printing - OSX/XP

At work here we have 4 Macs for the designer and one PC for me, the programmer/not very l33t at all networking guy. The Macs print to a printer connected to my PC via the network and a handy program called gsprint

Recently the Macs were all upgraded from Panther to Tiger. Since then, two of the four machines can no longer print, despite the options being the same across all four Macs. When trying to print from them the error of "Network host 192.168.1.108 is busy... retrying in 30 seconds"

I have NO idea what's causing this problem. I'm not sure if it's a conflict or what, and I'm actually not too familiar with Macs so it's tough for me to poke around. Does anyone know what might be causing 2 of the 4 computers to give me this grief?

How did you upgrade?

Only two of four, that's quirky -- is the printer being controlled by a server, or is it standalone? What model? Typically I find the simplest solution is that your printing preferences were corrupted, two suggestions:
1) Boot off the OS X disk, and repair those permissions. This can be done by, when you've completed your boot and are facing the upgrade/install window, Click on the finder (desktop) and select disk utilities from one of the top menus. This may help clear out other bugs you could have.
2) Just delete the printer out of your printer setup utility (this is located in the applications folder, then the utilities folder). Resetup the printer.

If you can, and you do print design and web like we do here, set your printer up for IP/LPD printing, much faster homes.

As a note, if ya didn't, you should have done a fresh install of Tiger, not a simple 'upgrade', that caused huge issues for us here (I've been the mac IT guy now since they're hard to come by)... you may think about doing that to some of the computers in the future if you notice some more funk.

Thanks for the replies guys. We tried a bunch of stuff that didn't work so finally I just said "screw it" and had one of the users with it working share their printer on the network. So now the two users who can't connect directly to my machine just do so through the other machine. It'd be a crappy fix if I was a real IT guy, but there's only five computers on the network and I wasn't hired to do networking so they'll just have to deal :D

That's weird....reinstalling the printers on the macs should fix it, seeing as the other computers can print :)
