I am currently working on a site that is placed in shared hosting.
Just a question, but if I want to try using phpbb2 as the basis of a forum section of a web-site; should I put this in a separate folder at the same level as the www folder, or inside the www folder. Is there any disadvantage to either location, if hyperlinks in the main part of the site point to the right spot (the forum) and back again?
Now I have loaded the folder to this spot:
root| domain.com| phpbb2
rather than
root| domain.com| www| phpbb2.
Does this question make sense? Thanks for your answer(s)
Greg
Directories looks like this currently:
Root
- somethingorother.com
--- db
--- log
--- phpBB2
--- Special
--- www
