I don't know if it is a problem of the parser, the browsers, or the swf files, but sometimes they just won't be copied to the tmp folder (don't even have any size nor dimensions), so they won't be moved to the final folder.

Have you ever seen or heard this?
Test it in WinXP, with IE & FireFox, PHP 4.3.11

Do they exceed the maximum file upload size in your PHP config? You can check what the size is by doing a php_info() and looking for "upload_max_filesize". Another useful thing to do is echo $_FILES['userfile']['error'] and see if PHP is telling you why the file failed to upload. The error code returned should correspond to:

1 - the file size exceeds the upload_max_filesize in php.ini
2 - the file size exceeds an html specified max_file_size
3 - the file was only partially uploaded
4 - no file was uploaded at all
6 - problem with the /tmp directory
