Just about any modern browser with pop up prevention turned on will stop just about any type of pop up EXCEPT most of those activated onclick by the user. The browsers' designers figure that if you clicked on it, you must be willing to see it. Faulty logic if you ask me, because the links can be deceiving at times but, if you are determined to display a pop up window, that is how to do it. Some of these can be nice additions to image galleries and whatnot so, I guess they aren't altogether bad. What exactly did you have in mind?

You can use pseudo pop ups. It depends upon what you are trying to do exactly though. What I am referring to is a dhtml element that is hidden and when triggered by some event appears as a content box superimposed on the page. Some of these can just pop up, others drop in or slide in.
