Need help in reading data from a different server.

hi,
I'm not a CGI/PERL programmer but I'm assigned to take a real time data from a stock quotes company server and show those data on our web page. I'm sure this is done all the time so if anyone knows where i can find info on how to this or even better, and example script, I would really appreciate it.
