Hello Willy Duitt

You may recall a while ago you had a bit of a sour posting sesion with a certain someone. (nnjjll)

It was about opening html files with different file extensions as a normal HTML page and navigate towards it as the borwser would if the file had a .htm or.html ending.

Here's the thing. I dont know If you have read any fo my posts on my little astronomy project for my friend whom is a teacher.

This little thing has become quite in depth and runs nicely as a little Client Side app.

The school as offered to purchase this from me instead of just giving it to them.

So I want to make it look a bit more professional. I dont want a different file extesion (but on may be there if needed) I just want it to be a blank 'file'. So it doesnt look so much like a website.

I recall in the last few posts you said that you could do it in a few lines.

So what I ask you, is please could you let me know how this is done?

If you do not want to post it here or you want to question me a bit, please email me : seigaku_ace@hotmail.com.

This is also my MSN messenger ID.

Please. If you cant or dont want to, let me know.

Thanks alot! :thumbsup: :)

Maybe you should try PMing him instead of posting on a public forum, hoping he would see.

Try looking into HTAs (http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/author/hta/overview/htaoverview.asp).

I do not really understand what you are looking for...
But, as Glenn suggested, I think you want an HTA...
Below is an example... Save As with the file extension .hta...

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 3.2 Final//EN">

MAXIMIZEBUTTON="yes"
MINIMIZEBUTTON="yes"
SHOWINTASKBAR="no"
SINGLEINSTANCE="no"
SYSMENU="yes"

WINDOWSTATE="maximize"

<SCRIPT>

/* This function also gets the value of commandLine,
which cannot be set as an attribute */

function fnShowProp()
