Dear list,

Anyone know how to add an Icon to the URL address bar of a browser, instead of the browser using the default.

i.e.I have my cool web app on the server running. I want the client browser to see my application symbol in the menu bar, or when he adds it to his favourites, instead of the IE or Ntscpe default. I know its possible to do.

Is it easy? can I do it with HMTL or Javascript ? It would be better if the same code could work under all browsers.

Would appreciate recieving any code sample

looking forward to any reply.

sincerely,

Ben Bookey

I was going to report you, but when I took a look at your web-site with your code generator (which is really cool!) you actually helped me alot with some Jscript.! Thank you alot. good site.

I am no profi with computers, I have only been programming for a year. But I enjoy it, and I help people when I can. I dont think being insultive benefits you or anybody.

Ben,

You're right about being insulting but ignorance hurts you too. In this particular case you didn't understand that the phrase you saw as insulting was merely the "signature line" attached to all responses by Eric, it's common on boards like this for people to use signature lines with pithy quotes in them. The whole answer you needed was the link to the FAVICON site, all the rest was just part of his signature.

Jeez dood...You gotta be kidding. You probably don't know that there are very knowledgable people here, myself excluded, that can really help you. From the looks of it, you will need a lot.
