okay here it is (http://home.earthlink.net/~harbingerofthevoid/brownsmoke/brownsmoke.html)
I played around this weekend and came up with this. I know nothing ground breaking but none the less. Yeah it's brown. Very brown. I dig mono-chromatic and find it hard to stray away from it so color wise it maybe boring to you.
Biggest thing is layout. it's not supposed to be centered so thats not an issue with me. Just the overall "feel" to it.
I played around with it form 800x600 all the way to 1600x1200 and it works fine except in 1600x1200. the art work page images get thrown to the left.
resize the page if your over 800x (and running full screen) and see how it goes and if it causes any glitches.
warning: there will be a load time as it' has images. the art page for sure but the main CSS loads some 180k worth of crap. trying to get around that but the image in the bottom left corner is 150k alone. Pretty sure in 800x600 it loads although you won't see it as it only appears in anything above that.
I tried to avoid the box model syndrome but I have to go to work to get to a mac so IDK.
anywho... any rips are duely appreciated but one note. If you say something like "i dont like this..." tell me what you don't like about it and what would make it look/work better for you. Constructive critisism is great but ideas go places.
gracias.

[edit] (to the edit) I know th egfont size is small and the text is narrow. I might change that if need be.
[edit] (to the edits edit) if you look in the links page and go to Harold McNiell. I tried to make the MC raise up but all I could come up with was making it smaller and underlining it. It looks like crap. is there code for the little MC that goes before a MC Name?
[edit] (to the edited edits edit) let me know the screen res your viewing it at and browser.
