I want to make a fault log system for my self am new to php but know some basics. Can someone help me i want to be able to connect to a mysql database and submit a fault log then display on a webpage.

i just want the basic structure then i can build up from that. so if someone knows a script or website where i can learn how to submit messages to mysql display them on a web page that would be great.

There are millions of basic mysql/php tutorials. A google search gives me almost 13 million results for "php mysql tutorial (http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=php+mysql+tutorial&meta=)" with some very clear and concise examples on the first two pages.

Well once you've read them you will be able to do what you want, definitely, it sounds pretty straightforward.

The only best way to learn any programming language is to learn the basics though, you won't learn by trying to run before you can walk so my recommendation would be to read the tutorials, try and convert their code to do what you want, if you get stuck then post your code here and someone will be able to help and you'll soon be a PHP/MySQL pro :D

what it is was when i learned html i ran before i could walk so i think am doing the same with php but it's a lot more complex then expected

Yeah, I think we've all been there and it's always frustrating wanting to do big things and having to put in the groundwork first but trust me it'll start to pay off the more you learn. I still have a long way to go but I'm doing things now that used to take me months of head scratching and coding to write without even having to think about them
