The main navigation is too faint, i.e. the colours of the text are too close to the background blocks.
I quite like the way some of the colours appear to overlap and become blended, i think that is a nice touch
The main image - e.g. underneath the rather cute girl... will you be turning that text into HTML instead of image? It seems a waste of file size given that its just black/blue text on a white bg!
Good work overall, im not 100% sure about the green and blue going together, you might want to try changing the greens to blue shades or something.

Looks great so far, very professional, especially with the images.
One thing I would fool around with though is the header logo. I almost forgot the company name when I clicked back here. Either make it bigger, add some color, put another image towards the right of it.. etc..
Also the blue background kinda clashes a bit, fool around with some other colors too, maybe even a gradient image background.
Again, great job so far.

All comments taken on board, :)
I agree with the background color clashing and I am in the midst of adding a dif color / texture.
The text and photos will definetly be html, (this will eventually be database driven site).
I agree also on the header, its not eye catching, or memorable, I'll have to look into this.
I think my website layout/coding is in the forefront of my mind and I hate to admit it but I really seem to suck at graphics.(header etc..) (for now!)
All my grahics so far are in editable format of png, and have not been scaled down to smaller sizes yet. I m really trying to get the look right first! (this is my first payed site!), I h :) ave just changed code to xhtml which validates!
thankyou for your help! :) , please check back at the link (http://www.freewebs.com/dwsystems) for my new changes, i would appreciate any further comments! :D

the new logos pretty cool but i think if you seperate the DW from the SYSTEMS the name would be a little easier to read at a glace
06-22-2005, 12:40 PM
Yes Im not really sure what to do with the name, DW is not an acroynm, and i will play around with this!, thanks! :)

I like it man. Maybe stylize the letters DW so they overlap a bit, and use a line like ..Computer Software and Maintence. I don't know something to get the eyes to read close to the name. a picture of a drunk pink bunny rabbit would get the eyes next to the name as well. though. Oh Freak what do i know.

You are a mind reader!, I really wanted to implement a drunk pink rabbit!
Client doesnt think its relevent!
Yer I know the name doesnt stick out enough!, thanks! :)
It will validate xhtml this is important to me (eventually!)

Wow, the site looks very good! ((The FreeWebs one, your domain is not working.))
My first impression was that it loaded too slowly, however.
I also think perhaps you need a sort of background, perhaps light boxed squares, or even a very light green?
The only other thing I disliked was the plain, uncoded scrollbars! Try using CSS to make them blend in more with the site. It'll make it look more 'finished'. ^^;
Everything else was great, all the fonts and colours are nice and easy to read, very professional and superlative.

Looks nice...nothing which I can cover really which hasn't already been said, however at my current res (1600x1200) the site looks kinda small ;)
