looking for some chat room code

Been considering adding a chat room to my personal page for some buddies to keep in touch. Is there anything out there that I could use to create my own, instead of using a free hosted one, that pounds me with pop up windows?

You can use java to create your chatrooms, or any other serverside language. If you wanna make your own chatrooms, I suggest using PHP and Mysql. Can get free chatrooms from here and have them on your own site (ie no banners or ads) http://www.hotscripts.com

catch to the PHP chat page is your bandwidth, these PHP chat rooms will chewyour badwidth in less that a day so i hope you have unlimited bandwidth!

nah, I got like a 2GB/mo. limit or something.....I just need something simple....any recommendations? thanks for the help

Still might be better off using a chatroom from another company. http://www.myinfochat.com I don't think 2bg/mo will last with a php chatroom

well there's only gonna be like 6-10 people using it at the most. just for some friends to keep in touch..maybe some family members....
