pushing files to clients

I need to create a link on a web page that looks at the users machine to determine if there is a certain drive and directory, and if so, push new files to their machine. Can anyone please help me? Thanks a bunch.

You will need to get into ActiveX do that, I'm sure. As you may or may not know, ActiveX will only work for users that are surfing with Internet Explorer and have some version of Windows for their OS.

I don't do ActiveX stuff, so I'm afraid my advice goes no further than what is written above.
