I've been thinking about purchasing either AVG 7 professional or NOD32. Both are around the same price (27) although the licence for 27 for NOD32 is only 1 year. What one do you think is better? I'm currently running AVG 7 Free edition which is fine, but I want scheduled tests etc of which you can't do with AVG 7 free edition.

NOD32 is one of the most effective anti virus clients around I've heard so I might go with that. However AVG is fairly good as well.

Any ideas anyone?

Jamie.

I've been thinking more of NOD32 lately than AVG. However no one had any suggestions

Hmm, I haven't used NOD32 before, but if AVG hasnt changed since the last time I used it then I wouldn't use it. I've deliberately put a fake virus on my system to see if AVG picked it up. It didn't pick it up. It seems to concentrate more on the harmless viruses like a spyware that really doesn't do anything but gets the name of a trojan.

Well I've always been pretty happy with AVG, however NOD32 is reputed to be one of the most efficient AV clients on the market.

I would rather run AVG than Norton anyday.

Norton may be a memory hog, but it does its job, I haven't gotten any viruses that have actually corrupted my system. Norton has caught them all. I use Norton Internet Security 2005.

I wouldn't touch Norton if I got paid :)

I'm gonna go with NOD32 although the licence plan is only for 1 year :p
