Check out Larry's Ullman's "PHP for the World Wide Web, 2nd Edition." It's great. It upped my skillset a lot, and he's a great writer. Easy to read and comprehend.

That's the book i have too - it's great in that it's easy to read and understand and not full of 'technical jargon'
A great

The Dummies guides are good, too. Don't be deceived by the name, they're written so that they're easy for beginners to understand but they do go pretty in-depth to give you a good solid general PHP knowledge that you can build on.
