i cant get my win2k and winXP to connect with each other. i have enabled file sharing on both computers but i can't see the other computer. i read a website suggesting to disable the XP firewall but it hasn't worked.
i'm open to suggestions....

Have you made sure they are in the same workgroup i.e. MSHOME or WORKGROUP?

How are you connecting them? via a Cat5e Crossover cable or through a router/switch?
Can you share files between them after enabling file sharing and sharing a drive? Can you ping them?
Do they have different LAN IP addresses? such as 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2?

through a router and the router is also DHCP server....but i noticed that the win2k computer says its connected to the router but it doesn't have an IP address....i know that having no IP address is the problem but i cant seem to get an IP set for it....
