In order to change a link in a PDF document on the website, I need to change the destination of this link in a Microsoft Word document so that I can then create a new PDF document from it to upload to the web server. There are a few links throughout the document which point to the correct html pages but the person who made this document has forgotten to change the link in question's destination and it points to a non-existent page.

Using Word 97 I brought up the edit hyperlink box, deleted the current erroneous address and typed in the new address and said OK. Twice Microsoft Word threw up the message MS Word 97 has encountered a problem and needs to close. So...I tried removing the link using the edit hyperlink box. I then tried making a new link of the text and the same problem message came up.

This IS to do with website development so I hope the question is relevant to this part of the forum. Has anyone got any ideas of how I can create this needed link in the Word document?

sounds like a problem with microsoft word since it is crashing when you are trying to insert a hyperlink.

Weird......
Afterall, Microsoft Frontpage/Frontpage Express is total trash :)

it could be something to do with an adware/spyware/trojan/virus problem - could try checking for that type of stuff and also getting all of the available Microsoft Office updates from http://office.microsoft.com ;)

I'm assuming you're using Adobe's PDF distiller to create these PDFs? If so, then why not load up the PDF into Adobe's PDF editor and change the link there, rather than re-distilling each time you need to make a change? There could be a conflict between your ancient Word version and your Adobe software (again, assuming you're using their distiller, which is the only thing I know of that creates PDFs from Word)
