Here's the thing: I have a 250 gig hard drive (completely empty) and a 60 gig hard drive (Windows and all my programs are on a 29GB partition; the other 27GB is empty). I have a new computer with two 120GB hard drives. I would like to take all of the information (programs and files) from the 29GB hard drive and put it on one of the 120GB hard drive and move my other 120GB hard drive as a backup while using my 60GB hard drive for my father's computer. So, I also need to transfer everything (programs and files, etc.) from my father's 5 GB hard drive to the 60 gig hard drive. The main point in both cases is to make sure that XP and all the programs transfer. If someone can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

Cheers.

Usually, for such a thing, you should use a drive imaging software. powerquest (www.powerquest.com) has one. You create the image from the first disk and transfer to the second disk. Now with Winxp, i'm not sure if it might work because XP has ties to the hardware it was initially installed on. What would likely happen is that you would need to activate you OS again after the transfer.

Nah, you shouldn't even need to do that. It won't even realize it has been moved if you use some imaging software.
