ok ok, I know its alot to ask :D

i just upgraded from 4.0 to 4.1 and my old version of SQLyog (which I kept from when it was free) doesn't work with v4.1 :( so i'm in need of a front-end. what I mean by standalone is basicly NOT phpmyadmin. It's not that i don't like the tool (i do, and i use it) but alot of the time i don't want to start apache and firefox up just to go have a look at something in a table. any ideas?

Hi, check Questions about mysql structure (http://www.codingforums.com/showpost.php?p=298906&postcount=4) thread (EMS MySQL Manager has Lite version which is free, but it's buggy and has many flaws). IMHO the best freeware Win-based tool that perfectly works with MySQL 4.1 is MySQL AB' Query Browser & Administrator (they both also has a few bugs in UI, but nevertheless can be used). If you find some other tools, please post links in here. IMHO it's a good idea (for other people with similar problem) to change the name of your thread to something like "Design, Query & Admin applications/tools for MySQL server" and maybe to add the poll. Also check Admin Tool for MYSQL (http://www.dbforums.com/showthread.php?t=1099776) dBForum' thread

i'd love to try mysql AB's tools but they don't run on win98, only on NT, 2000, XP :(

fortunatly SQLyog have started offering a free version of their tool again :)
