journal addon for phpbb

hi everyone,

i'm currently using phpbb as my forum and i'm wondering if and how i can add some journal software to it so that my users can use their current login as the login for the journal i would like to add.

i know some basic php and any help in directing me to some code that can be added so that i can have a journal integrated in with my forum.

this is similar to www.gaiaonline.com
