Argh- so frustrating

My famiily and I just got our computer swept clean for the THIRD TIME in a year. We are like a magnet to anything bad out there. So anyways, I installed Mozilla firefox. But, when I tried to download something itgave me an error 5 access is denied. And then when the program tries to install all the files in the program it gves me an access denied for EACH FILE(it gave me the options Abort, Ignore, and Try Again).

How the heck do I gain acess to anything? I installed the thing on the primary account username but then tried to open it from my name and it doesnt work.

I know the program is not at fault - it is my computer settings. How the heck do I change it so I can download files without my access being denied!!!

Weird......I know in IE if you have dud internet connection settings it will sometimes spew out a "Access Denied" error, 'cause I had the problem on my mates computer a while back. However, firefox worked fine on it...

Can you use IE to surf the web or do you get errors there? I would remove any dodgy stuff from your computer - malware etc, then reinstall firefox. However, firefox is immune to crap like BHO's etc.

I fixed it, I went to the main user and went to user account--> user settings---> and changed my privileges to Computer Administrator. I was on a limited account, which forbidded installing files.
