Closing pop-up windows with script?

i've purchased a site through a server that automatically advertises with pop-up ads on my site....i've been looking for a script to close them automatically, but i have yet to find one. if anybody can offer a solution, i'll be GREATLY appreciated.

If you agreed to have popups in exchange for your free space, you're not supposed to ask that here or receive help for it.

As far as I know, unless your JS opened the window you can not close the window with a JS,

But Im only fairly new to all this.

i'm still new to this myself, i just know there's a ton of stuff that JS is capable of, and i figured this would be the best place to find people who would know.
