View Full Version : Submit an HTML form without hitting Submit

Hey guys.. I was wondering about submitting a form. I am downloading a form to my computer, and I want to then send the form back to the server without using a browser. I was wondering how the submit button works. Does it create a URL with a bunch of parameters?

For example, I have the following:

<form name="cartForm" action="Dispatcher?target=ShoppingCartPage&action=addSystemsToCart&sessionID=C4gx1NTo!802130179!-1735652475!1111023793900&tgtSeg=I" method="post" onSubmit="this.unique.value = 1111023794275; return true;">
<input type="hidden" name="target" value="ShoppingCartPage">
<input type="hidden" name="action" value="addSystemsToCart">
<input type="hidden" name="unique" value="">

Then it goes on and has a bunch of check boxes. I want to download this html file and set the checkboxes my self, and then I want to submit this form. I was wondering if there was a way to submit the form without clicking on the submit button.. so I can directly send it to the server without having to go through a browser. Is there a way for me to send this back directly to the server. I am not sure how the submit button actually works so that it sends the data within the form.. any help is apprecaited.
