hi i have a problem with my friends p.c wich is when ever i either try to search for files or folders it is all blank i have a screen shot of this attached can anyone tell me whats going on please click on the link below

Hi Steve,

looks like something is corrupt somewhere along the line. Have you tried scanning it for Viruses/Trojans/Adware/Spyware/BHO's etc?

Try this:
start > run> cmd
in the command prompt type in "SFC /SCANNOW" (without the " " :p). This scans for any corrupt windows files etc. If dodgy windows systems files are found, then you can restore the original versions from your windows xp cd.

Also, do a CHKDSK which will find and fix any errors in the NTFS file system bitmap.
