Directory listing - I need a step by step guide please.

I want people to type in a web address and get a directory listing where they can click on items to access them (pics, files, etc). I have no idea how to do this, which is where you hopefully come in.

I need to know what files I may need, where the files need to go, what format they need to be in, if I need to create some kind of user access levels or something and whatever else that I might be missing.

As I said, it needs to be step by step. I don't need logons or anything. Just direct access to anyone that has the web link.

Turn on FancyIndexing in the configuration of your webserver (if it is Apache anyway), and the list will be generated automatically.

For a step by step guide, go to apache.org and search for 'fancyindexing' or do the same on google.com :)
