I have noticed lately that at some sites I am getting Pop Under ads when browsing with Firefox. These sites are not on my approved list. Anybody else experiencing this and know how it is happening?

Yes, I've had it happening sometimes. It's two-fold - some advertisers insert on-click popups for regular site links in, which is something that Mozilla simply cannot block since it would destroy many "legitimate" popup powered sites (did someone say porn-galleries?).

Also, some advertisement system evidently has worked around the Mozilla blocker system, either in the process of getting around the WinXP SP2 blocker or specifically targetting moz. It shouldn't be too much of a surprise as it has happened before, and I wouldn't be surprised if somebody was working on patching that hole, like they have done before.

Your explanation sounds correct to me. I did not pay attention to see if it happened when I entered the site or when I clicked on a link. I guess I can't blame the site because they are trying to generate revenues to pay for all the work they put into it and pay salaries. As long as it does not become annoying like other sites that would popup 4 or 5 windows at a time I don't mind. Any other thoughts - pro or con?
