I can't believe I'm resorting to asking this, but I'm stumped.

I've followed Yahoo's instructions; I've gone to the category into which I'd like to add my site (http://uk.dir.yahoo.com/Regional/Countries/United_Kingdom/England/Counties_and_Regions/Essex/Cities_and_Towns/Epping/Business_and_Shopping/Shopping_and_Services/), and clicked the "Suggest a site" link in the grey bar (at the top and at the bottom of the page). According to their instructions (http://help.yahoo.com/help/uk/url/), I should then see a form for entering my URL and all that gubbins, but I don't.

I see a page that tells me how wonderful something called "Yahoo Express" is, and that it only costs £199 and that I should click this button. Nothing about "no, I really don't want to pay you nearly two hundred quid for a seven-day turnaround, just take me to your free submission form".

Now I'm not the sharpest tool in the box but something tells me that not everybody listed on Yahoo has paid them two hundred notes for the priviledge. Can someone check out that page and point out to me the large, flashing, "click here to go to the free submission form you muppet" link?

Yours, in humblest humbility,
etc.

I think the £199 was for paid preference advertising on Yahoo. That is where you get big adverts etc advertising your site on different yahoo pages etc. I added my site using their free suggest a site link - https://login.yahoo.com/config/login?.src=srch&.done=http://submit.search.yahoo.com/free/request
http://submit.search.yahoo.com/free/request
There is no real chance of your link being indexed, but mine was:D

Google's one is http://www.google.com/addurl.html

HTH,
Jamie.

But those just take me to a login page  :( I have to register in order to suggest a site?

Why go through all that trouble to get it indexed a liiiitle bit sooner? Just sit it out; the spiders will come-a-knocking sooner or later anyway...

I would not bother paying Yahoo. If you're in G, or MSN, you're in Yahoo. As far as the 'directory' - well, it barely helps your ranking on G. And nobody searches the Y directory anymore, so human visits are almost out of the question.
