Hello everyone --
I am looking at getting a CMS for a site that would need to have message boards, a wiki feature, image galleries, news feature, and the ability for static pages.
I know of several systems that can do some of this, but am not sure of one that can do them all.
My question is, if you needed to do all of this, which one would you use?
Thank you :)

I have to say I've been exploring a number of CMSes myself a while back, and although there's a wide variety of open source ones available out there, I really haven't found strong leads to one or the other. Even on sites which provide users to comment on the CMS they're using, you get conflicting responses, ranging from "best CMS ever!" to "complete rubbish!".
I guess you just have to pick a couple based on a generally favourable verdict, play around with them for a while and see if they offer what you need; if you can't find a single one that suits all your needs, you can allways build one yourself... :D (or adapt an existing one).

The best answer is likely to go with something like the eVolt change. They had a custom CF-based CMS and looked at what they needed and what they wanted, feature for feature, until they could see a definite way to go. Feature comparisons are useful.

i find CMS opionions are always verys subjective. lots of people say they think mambo is great, but i couldn't understand it for the life of me (even though it looks as sexy as hell:)). others suggest ezPublish which didn't want to install on my machine. one that i found good was drupal. but the template sysetm isn't very flexible. you should definatly try setting a few up on your own machine to test.
