Using this page as an example - if you are viewing this page on FireFox you will see a green and black "CF" icon next to the URL. How is this done?

Hi,

It's called a favicon. In the root directory of your site, put an image that you make called favicon.ico which should be 16x16 pixels.

Hope this helps,
~David

You don't even need that, just change the extension from .gif to .ico

Should this favicon be able to work on most servers? I put one in my directory, and outside my directory, and it didn't show. Shared hosts or dedicated servers or virtual servers might play a role in it not being visible???

It doesn't matter at all what type of server it's running on, what software it running on, it's all client side...

does the code for the page have to refer to the .ico, or should it just be put in your directory folder? mine is still not showing up.
