Hi,
Can anyone tell me why I'm getting a short black underline after my left and right column links in some browsers and not in others (see link below)? Can anyone give me a fix for this?

The page appears OK in IE6, Firefox & Netscape 7, but in Opera 7 & Netscape Communicator 4.79, I get these rather irritating lines (which also become part of the link). BTW it's a test page, none of the links go anywhere yet!

Additionally, and this only ever happens on Netcape Communicator, the last 20 or so keywords in the <head> section appear at the top of the page, above the top banner, though this usually disappears after refreshing once or twice. Any idea why this should be?

Cheers - John.

Hi, try first the font-tag and then the a-tag, like:

<font><a href="link">bla</a></font>

Better: don't use the font-tag there. Make it a class in the stylesheet and use:

<a class="font-specs" href="link">bla</a>

I ran my html-checker on the url you mentioned. The program found 51 errors and 100 warnings. This could have to do with your issue.

It's always a good idea to check your pages with a decent html-checker. For instance the one that W3C.org provides.

Just to add, I wouldn't worry too much about Netscape 4, it's pretty dead. Most people avoid giving any stylesheets to NS4 altogether, instead offering a text-based alternative.
