Freelance Design Fees

Curious of the opinions for rates to charge for freelance web design. Obviously different factors go into everything, but just wondering what everyone out there charges. Thanks.

I recently asked around, since I was interested in possibily having someone redesign two pages- a frontpage and category page. The companies I inquired are all established, though some appear to be one man operations. Anyhow, the quote I got usually were in the range of $1,000 and above. It did seem rather high to me, especially for just two template pages, but that seems to be the rate these days.

er...it depends for me (at least would depend..)
Balancing web development with GCSE work is tough, but when I do end up with a paying client, I would charge a set amount per page, then another amount for ammendments, programming and up keep etc...
However, I haven't really thought this over yet.
