I'm using Tag It! v0.6.1 for my tagboard script and I'm having problems getting the scrollbar to change to the colors I specified in my CSS stylesheet. The stylesheet is included in all of the files that are used and I'm thinking that perhaps I didn't do the CSS code right, since I'm not exactly that knowledgeable in CSS. Here's the code I put in the stylesheet:

body {
background-color: #391808;
scrollbar-arrow-color: #D68C50;
scrollbar-track-color: #000000;
scrollbar-face-color: #391808;
scrollbar-highlight-color: #993333;
scrollbar-3dlight-color: #000000;
scrollbar-darkshadow-color: #000000;
scrollbar-shadow-color: #000000;
}

If anybody can tell me if that code is wrong and how I could fix it or if you have an idea of why my scrollbars aren't working right- I'd really appreciate it. Thank you so much!

Scrollbar colors only work in Internet Explorer for Windows. So, if you're not using IE, it won't work.

Also, be prepared for fifteen posts after this one telling you why you shouldn't have scrollbar colors on your webpage ;)

Well, I have IE and all my other scrollbars work fine.

And if anybody cares to get on my case for using colored scrollbars, I will ignore it because that isn't the issue here. The issue is to fix my problem. :p lol

So like I said before, any other help on getting my scrollbars to work would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well, if your other scrollbars are working and you're using the same technique it's most likely a problem somewhere else... you might want to post your complete code or a link to make it easier for others to help you out.

I'd give this one a shot but I'm a Mac guy (sorry :))

what character type are u using? and plus if you aren't using a doctype that could be a problem to in IE of course, if you post the code to the page in question, we can give u a better answer

Hmm....okay, well I posted the CSS code for the scrollbars that I put in the stylesheet....and this is what is in every file to include the stylesheet: echo " <LINK rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\" href=\"tagboard.css\">\n";

As for showing you some code, I don't really know what you need to see. Do you want to see the stylesheet code? Here's a link to where the tagboard is : http://gatheringclouds.net/version5.php ...you can take a look.

what character type are u using? uhm. what would that be exactly?

So sorry, I'm quite the novice here. The thing is, this is a script I downloaded and I didn't code it...I'm just trying to customize it.

Aargh... I've answered this question so many times on CF and various other forums...

html, body {
background-color: #391808;
scrollbar-arrow-color: #D68C50;
scrollbar-track-color: #000000;
scrollbar-face-color: #391808;
scrollbar-highlight-color: #993333;
scrollbar-3dlight-color: #000000;
scrollbar-darkshadow-color: #000000;
scrollbar-shadow-color: #000000;
}

html is the true root of the page, not body. This is the best way to colour scrollbars (not that I'm saying it's a good idea ;) ):

<!--[if IE]>
<style type="text/css">
html, body {
background-color: #391808;
scrollbar-arrow-color: #D68C50;
scrollbar-track-color: #000000;
scrollbar-face-color: #391808;
scrollbar-highlight-color: #993333;
scrollbar-3dlight-color: #000000;
scrollbar-darkshadow-color: #000000;
scrollbar-shadow-color: #000000;
}
</style>
<[end if]-->

(Put that code between the <head> and <head> tags.) The conditional comments mean that your page will still validate (scrollbar colouring is IE-specific CSS), and that your page should still work fine in other browsers.

i saw about 6 different style codes, all on the same page each seperated with <style type="text/css" run your page through the validator and fix some of the problem you may have http://validator.w3.org
