View Full Version : Why does this page render in NN4 but not NN6?

I'm using NetMechanic to test some web pages I'm doing to post vacation photos. The following sample link works well in all browsers EXCEPT Netscape 6. It even works in NN4 (but not so well in Opera 6 - not a problem as far as I know since this isn't going to be published far and wide). I don't care if the background photo doesn't show up but I'm really curious as to why it won't render in NN6. It just shows up blank - both Mac and PC.

I've gone over this code, validated it, etc., but can't figure out what's wrong. Does it have something to do with having a <div> within a <td>?

Any help is very much appreciated! Here's the link:

It shows up fine in Mozilla 1.0 (gotta get 1.1 installed soon!).

If you're still running Netscape 6 just pitch it, it was based on a beta version of the Mozilla browser and quite frankly is a buggy bad browser. It's time to upgrade but don't bother with Netscape 7 (the latest release), go to the source and get the Mozilla 1.1 browser. Leave behind the trash that Netscape packages with their browser and use the clean Mozilla browser instead.

Pre 1.0 Mozilla versions were still usable, but 0.96 was when it got very nice in my opinion. NS6.2 is based on Mozilla 0.94.

NS7 is based on Mozilla 1.0.1 (I don't think much more work is going to be done on the 1.0 branch now), and future significant NS7 releases will probably be from the 1.1 branch.
