If you're interested, this is Jamie (weazel) and my latest project. The Storeroom will have articles on web design and development, and hopefully a forum.

It has appeal. The header and nav section are too bleak. Even tiny little additions graphically could make it more appealing. Otherwise, the layout is nice and tidy :) I think there's too much grey on the page though

Looks good, has a bit of a 'Scrivs' feel (9rules, whitespace.com, cssvault), but that's not a bad thing at all.

I think the header is waaaay too dark and the sidebar is almost illegible due to the lack on contrast between foreground and background.
If you make the sidebar bg #111 instead of #333 it improves the legibility somewhat.

Nice design Ollie, if you want me to do more, just ask... For the snippets we could have a PHP script which parses my XML snippets pages and outputs it as XHTML...

@KeZZer: I'll try and spice it up a bit - I've darkened most of the grey now, and I think it looks better :) .

@Andrew: I've darkened the sidebars and footer. What would you suggest for the header? That CSS trick is a godamn lifesafer :thumbsup: .

@Geoffrey: Well I had to put something there :D . Thanks for the offer - I'm hoping we can work something out over MSN (stupid account won't sign in :( ).

@Rich: The server's been a complete tosser lately :mad: . I just started a different layout - didn't like the old one/couldn't be arsed to figure something out (yeah, I know, I'm a lazy git ;) ).

What do you want me to work on? I saw that tutorial link on the storeroom - do you want the tutorial with in depth screenshots etc etc?

The tutorial was just an example really... I think we need to get the design sorted, then work on the backend system/forum, and then we can start writing articles... We can discuss it more on MSN though...

OK no worries..What I meant by no CSS is that that when I loaded the storeroom homepage, there wasn't a css file uploaded so only text was displayed..no design:p

ooh..as for the design, it looks nice and vibrant. *gulps* got to finish my one :eek:
