hi there,
I have been trying to create a reg file that will run a bat file that will do a chkntfs and defrage on start up in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
key
I want to make it a reg file for multiple pc users for an install using windows xp pro. in our network here however its not going vary well.

if anyone can help with this it would be appreciated greatly.

It is not possible. The only thing .REG files do is to modify the registry.

I think he means he wants to create a .reg file to modify the registry so it will launch a batch file on startup. If so, I think your file would look something like this:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"Disk Checker"="C:\\disk_check.bat"
