Hey people,

Got another quality question

ok i'm working with a template, i've got it centered (finally). But now the page i'm working on has different layers as well as the template ones.

I was wondering is there a way i can link those layers to that on the template positioning wise. For the template positioning i'm using CSS for it, is there anyway i can do this/?

Many thanks,

Al.

I have no idea what you're asking here; I guess you're working in DreamWeaver, considering the terms "template" and "layer", but since these terms are ambiguous outside their proper context, could you please supply some more detailed information, preferably not in "DWSpeak"?

Eeeeepp

sorry if i confused you lot there.

Ok say if i had a page in a page (a frame or layer... if you will) and i wanted to position that frame relative to the page it's on. Is there anyway i could set the parent of the second page to the parent of the first.

that made it clearer?

Thanks,

Al.

Sure. If you mean ignoring the page flow and positioning "pixel precise" over the original template, give the main wrapper element on the template a declaration of "position: relative" and use "position: absolute" to position the elements within.

Other than that, you'll have to just deal with learning enough CSS to position your elements according to flow. Remember, this "layers" stuff is nonsense unless you're positioning EVERYTHING "out of flow" (absolute positioning or floating).
