image tool

My boss wants to enhance the web site with more images, animated gif etc....However we don't have any image editing tool except dreamweaver. Can anyone suggest any good, easy-to-use tool ? Our web pages are built on asp and html only, can I embed javascript in it ?

Paint Shop Pro

I have tried Paint Shop Pro a bit but found not that easy as I thought....Is there any good tutorial site ?

Yes, Javascript can be used. Good place to start learning about javascripts is webmonkey.com, devshed.com, htmlgoodies.com and w3schools.com.

I personally use Adobe Photoshop, but its an expensive piece of software, but once you get good at it, there's no turning back. There should be a trial version online, and at one point of time, there were plenty of tutorials online. Its not "easy" for the absolute beginner, but then again, nothing really is, just depends on how much you want to persevere on it.
