I am going to use Westell Versalink modem to connect to Verizon DSL. The modem connects via ethernet, however, I have a USB connection. The adapter, which is available for my problem, can only be supported by Windows 98SE or higher. Is this true? Can I use this adapter if I only have Windows 98? Should I either upgrade my Windows or install an ethernet connection? Thanks for the tips!

well, you would probably have a better computer if you upgraded to 98se and there will be no difference in speed from USB vs Eithernet but it would probably be cheaper to get a ethernet card.

It would be far easier to install a 10/100 Ethernet card than spend more for an adaptor. You can pick the Ethernet cards up cheap on eBay - something like £5. :D

USB is only supported on Windows 98SE or higher (and not Windows NT) - so it isn't just your adapter that wouldn't work with an older OS, it is any USB connected device.

I still say get a ethernet card rather than a adaptor.
