Suggestions for my blog layout please

I'm working on a layout for my webblog. Its still a photoshop image just quickly coded so you could get the basic idea.

I'm liking the colour scheme and it looks like it's heading in a good direction. Touch it up a bit more!

Hi,

It looks prety nice. I think you should just add some text to specify what each of the sections are, kind of like the mock screen, because I think that makes it easier to visualize how to improve the design.
