Alert on top of other windows

I have a web page set as my desktop with a real time clock on it. I have set up an alert to trigger at a certain time of day. The problem is, if I have other windows open, the alert stays behind any open windows so I don't see it.

Is there any way to have the alert come out over top any open windows?

I have WinXP, so proprietory code is acceptable.

You could try placing

self.focus()

just before the alert, this should bring the window and the alert to the front
