Google wants to index TV now by searching closed caption text:

I just found this while searching for interesting new materials to do a chemistry project on that's due tomorrow. :p

Probably also of interest: What are robots most likely to be used for first: Helping people or Killing people? (http://www.technologyreview.com/articles/05/01/ap/ap_3012505.asp) You guessed it... Sure, they're remote-controlled now, but are 3ft. tall murder-bots really a good way to take robotics? I know it's not really relevant to the topic, but I doubt I'll be returning to that site any time soon.

Well, they have a remote-controlled president so it's the obvious next step...

Google is amazing. Pretty soon they will rule the world (maybe they already do, but I don't want to get into conspiracy theories.) I was reading some site a few days ago saying that google may be developing a browser too. This, however, is only based on the facts that google registered gbrowser.com and hired one of the key developers of Mozilla. The article went on to speculate that google will soon make a OS...doubt it. But how cool would it be to run an OS called Goo.

Erm... Not very. Most people don't buy a brand new OS because it has a cool name, but because it works well.

Hehe, I wasn't really being serious. The problem with the net, is sarcasm doesn't translate all that well. I should have broke out the sarcasm bbcode. ;) Of course, I wouldn't use a buggy OS simply because it had a good name. However, if the OS happened to be very good and had an awesome name, why not. :D
