Hey. My webstats are not that good. Just under 91% of my visitors leave in the first 30 seconds. The next majority (2.9%) leave within the first 2 minutes.
If you guys wouldnt mind answering some questions of mine:
1: How can I improve the design of the website? I have been told it does not look very professional. I am thinking of a re-design, or do you not think it needs one?
2: What other improvements can be made? I suppose the old phrase content is king is applies, e.g. have more content?
The site address is http://bfsog.co.uk
Thanks

Errrm... it takes just under two minutes to read every page (as in all of them, not each of them). That might have something to do with the short retention time.

Add more content? haha, yes.
It's possible that - because you have nothing on your front page that indicates what tasty treats await visitors on your download/script pages - they are simply following the links to the better known sites.
"Front load" your pages and sections, so that the first heading and/or piece of text describes the content that the section contains. People tend to scan web pages rather than read them, so catching their eye with headings that look like what they're after is quite important.

Yeah, definitely more content. Also, at the present rate there isn't much use for that number of different pages. Combining some of them into one would also remedy their minute sizes (which on first glance say: not much to see here!).
Then there's the two main links on the home page to immediately send people of the site; not a very good idea. Start with news, or a short description of what you have to offer, with direct links to those pages. If you want to offer off-site links as a service, make sure they're after your main content, or buried in a link page.
Also ask yourself these questions: What is the purpose of this site? What kind of visitor do I hope to attract, and what's in it for them; what do I offer?

Hi,
I think the site design can use a little bit of work. First off, I think the design includes too much white space. Being that the left side menu does not come down too far, you have a lot of white space under the menu. Maybe try to extend the menu down a little. You can probably make the menu extend a little more down the page by adding a little more padding to the box the links are in. While looking at your site, I though it might look prety cool if you put a top navigation menu. I'm not sure what it would have on it, but I think it would make the site look a little nicer. Lastly, maybe add like a little arrow icon next to each of the links on the left menu. I think that would look cool, and make the design a little more interesting. That's just my oppinion, but overall, nice job!
Hope this helps,
~David
