retrieving registry values

hi all,
I'm looking for a javascript that can retrieve a value from a certain key specified in the registry and present the data it finds to the user. This html page will be located on the users machine. It must be in javascript or vbscript.

damn, i've found a VBscript that will do it but how do i run it so that it will display the information it finds on a html page without bringing the 'open/save' dialog up?
