By now I'm sure all of you have heard about the Huygens probe which has landed on Titon, Saturn's largest moon. I just wanted to say congratulations to the European Space Agency. This is truely a remarkable feat!

i know someone who was involved in that project when it was being built here...

he was rather chuffed that it made it and hadn't broken when it hit the ground.

The trip required a perfect symphony of projections over seven years, so that Cassini would barely miss each orbiting planet. Total distance: 2.2 billion miles.
One small step for Cassini, another giant step for mankind...
