Jeez, can't you just ask him to stop doing it?

whilst he's away,
-make shure he can't log onto your computer, password protect and don't log on as administrator, so he wron't be able to install any programs if you accidently leave it alone with him.
-get a firewall, i recommend Kerio Firewall, it works great for me
-get a virus scanner. free one: AVG. unless he writes his own keyloggers (and someone lame enough to repetedly hack his brothers computer, is a script kiddie and most probably doesn't) he he wron't be able to con you into installing it
-Format his hard drive out of spite and uppercut him. aim for the chin.

uppercut him. aim for the chin.
That bit sounds the most effective :D .
*Disclaimer: I do not in anyway condone violence of any sorts. Thank you.* :p

he put the key logger on through the network drive and hid it deep, and AVG will not pick it up because he made it himself, also he is the CS major I'm just a freshman in highschool so if I do something to his computer he probly has something to shut me down. I just want him out of this computer and to stop hacking my stuff he has tried to destroy my forum once. I want a way where his computer can not get access to mine.
thanks,

gotta get rid of the key logger first, then you should password protect your computer, so in order for him to login into your computer he would need to know your info, u may have to restart his computer once just in case he already has logged in to your puter

he does all this stuff from his computer through a back door so password protecting this computer will do nothing but keep him from going in the front door, plus I have done that already :D
but he still can get on through his computer and I want a way to stop him with out having to disconnect him from the network

hmm this may help, if u go to your network connections and right click on the LAN connection assuming its a lan network then click on properties, then click on the advanced tab, and enable the internet connection firewall it may stop him from getting in through the backdoor... (thats how its done on XP at least) its been a while since i've worked with other OS's

I could give you about 200 technical ways to help lock down a computer....but in this case...tell your brother to GROW UP.
And while some may not condone violence, I whole-heartedly embrace it......a spinning heel kick the head or a mysterious "flying iron" would work well.... :D
no no no...I'm just kidding of course............
Here are a few methods (varies depending on operating system):
1. Use a firewall
2. From the start menu, click on run and type the following:
gpedit.msc
- Navigate to "Computer Configuration" -> "windows settings" -> "local policies" -> "User rights assignments" and kill the accounts in "Access this computer from the network", manually add usernames to "Deny access this computer from the network"
3. right-click lan connection->properties. Click on "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and click the "Properties" button. Click "Advanced". Click "Options" -> Properites. "Enable TCP/IP Filtering" .....and then permit certain ports only.....like 80, 53 & 21. I don't know what all you do on your network, so this one might be a tad extreme.
4. start->run & type:
services.msc
set "Remote Registry Service" to "disabled" and stop the service.
Getting & using a firewall is your best technical option. You can also go to a site like this page (http://www.freewarehome.com/index.html?%2FSystem_Utilities%2FFile_Management%2FDetect_File_Changes_t.html) and grab a free app that will detect file changes.
The best option overall is to just tell the boy to act his age. (this is sound advice.....I too was a CS major...and I know what happens to guys who think they are clever- they get pwn3d themselves)
