Ok, my dad is in the home owners association in my neighborhood. They asked him to make a website for our neighborhood because I am the only one in the neighborhood into web design... anyway! This is the paradise neighborhood's website:
http://paradisehoa.org
please critique it and tell me any flaws or anything you would have done differently.

You don't use a really doctype
You have background music (Thank god that QuickTime doesn't supoirt .wav...)
Doesn't display as intended in Safari

Hm, I thought for sure i had put a doctype in there.. But what do you mean about quicktime doesnt support .wav? And in Safari, is it a complete mess? Or does it still have the basic idea? I dont have Safari so I don't know what it looks like. But is it still readable? Is it just minor things or does it seriously blow it out of proportion?

Don't have background music as it puts people off, and I'll give you a screenshot of safari... The Doctype isn't a real one, probably made up by Frontpage...

thank you for the tips, error 404.. Personally my dad and I like the music... my dad's idea actually, but how would you fix it so Safari works the same way? Did you find any problems with Firefox? (I have IE and only IE so I cant check this stuff)

lol the opening song may not be to appropiate for the target audience ie (older peeps), most of them will prolly freak out when they hear any kind of sound and in your forums, the noframes tags go outside of the frameset tag, and in firefox it appears fine except for the little descriptions that come up in that circle with the sunset looking background when u mouse over a link, they seem to going outside of the circle

Most music scares the c*** out of me, especially as I'm normally listening to my own music at home, or at school when I'm on CF (when I'm supposed to be doing ICT ;) ), the music comes out the speakers at god knows what volume.
People at work are often browsing the net when they're not meant to be working as well; putting music on a site can put people off it, and make them not want to return.

Yeah those are like, you know, the best reasons not to have muzik. God forbid the boss or teacher should find out you're goofing off and wasting resources.

I agree with chilipie. You shouldn't have music on a site. If you are going to have music on your site, it should have some sort of interface with a simple start and stop...

I don't know what your target audience is, but I don't think that Green Day is gonna work lol.
Your site could use quite a lot of work visually as well programatically, but I don't want to be one to discourage you. If you are "into web design", as you said, then I think that it would be in your best interest to stick around and become better at something that you enjoy. :)

Ack. . are you trying to get me fired? :p You might want to put a warning that it has sound on your link above.

Yeah, but it's a site review, first instinct is to look at the site, critique, read the posts to see if you agree, then add additional comments if needed.

Just looked at in Firefox/Zilla. The circle window doesn't appear at all. When you mouseover a link they go hay wire trying to load the circle window. I thought I was going crazy there for a minute when I say it, but I opened IE and it works fine.

Has anyone ever heard of <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML//EN">?
I'm just curious as to where he got that from

Gawd only knows!?!?
Internet Explorer Transitional Frameset
It's probably a Frontpage thing - and as such it is of scant concern to an elite young web developer........... :D just kidding
