A friend of mine is having trouble with their digital camera and I lack the experience to solve the issue.

I recently got a new digital camera. My old one wasn't great (it was a cheap piece of crap, to be honest). It had stopped uploading all of a sudden and I couldn't figure out why. I figured that it was just because it was a hunk of junk. After I got my new one, I got it set up and everything. It worked fine for a few days, then it stopped uploading as well. I haven't been able to figure out what it is. All the booklet has on failure uploads is make sure everything is installed correctly, blah blah blah, but all that was arleady done. I uninstalled and reinstalled everything and still no luck.

Her batteries are fresh and wires are all connected correctly.
OS:XP Home.
Camera:Kodak EasyShare CX7525

A few things:

1) Is she copying a la usb?
2) Is she storing the data on an add-on memory card? (ie SD)
3) Is she grabbing the files via Windows Explorer or some Kodak software?
4) What OS is she running?

If running XP, I'd try the following:
1) Click "Start' -> 'run' and type:
diskmgmt.msc
and hit <enter>
2) In the bottom check for "removable" disks. Perhaps the disk is here, but isn't getting an assigned drive letter? (you can right-click on the "removable" disk and give it a letter
3) Have they tried a reboot, yet?
4) If she's attempting to copy via software, have her try copying directly from the camera's drive letter in windows explorer.
5) Sometimes it makes a difference- don't turn on the camera until it is plugged into the computer....computers get cranky sometimes :P

Does windows XP detect it under My Computer? Usually, Scanners, Cameras, digital memory, etc are listed in My Computer. If it does, you should be able to browse into it using Windows Explorer

Yeah, aside from the drivers, if Windows doesn't pick it up. I don't use any 3rd party software with my digi cam. It's just not nessesary. Think of it more as a usb drive when it's plugged into the PC. Navigate to it and copy \cut and paste.

Sorry Celt Boy, we did try it when you first suggested it and I forgot to post it on here. Anyway, no go. Windows appears not to be recongizing it at all.
