I recently bought a full rack of equipment including: Compaq Proliant 7000 Series server, 3 APC 1400VA UPS's, an 8-port Compaq KVM and a 19inch monitor. I got this set-up 2nd hand and was not given the keys to the 2 doors and 2 side panels. I found out I should order new locks from Ryttal Corp, but was told by Compaq (HP, same diff.) I need to figure out exactly which model of rack I have before I contact them. Now's the fun part. I cannot for the life of me find a model number printed anywhere on the rack, nor could HP tell me where to look. The guy I spoke with said he looked all over a rack that he happened to have nearby, but said he couldn't find one either. So, where can I find this stupid thing? Do I have to remove all of the equipment out of the rack to get at it, or what? This is quite aggravating. Thank you in advance.

Hmmm, sounds like you need a thief and not a hacker... j/k... ;)

I would suggest getting a locksmith, would be a lot cheaper in the long run...

take a picture and post. I may be able to tell you what model racks they are.

Considering it took 3 of us to unload it from the back of a minivan and lower it to the basement of my house, good luck to anyone who wants to try, lol. Seriously though, I'll try and get some pictures of it when I get back from work today.
